Recognizing our volunteers for their unselfish service is important. Mayflower District has a program to recognize every person who gives their time unselfishly to provide a quality program for our youth. Our Advancement and Recognition Committee will meet at the Merit Badge Lock-In to select our 2008 award recipients. These awards will be presented on 8 March at RAF Feltwell. There are awards for our newest to our most experienced leaders. Please take a few moments and make sure "your" special leaders are thanked by our district and council. Training

On-Line Registraton (you do not have to pre-register to attend but it does assist a great deal in preparing the materials and making arrangements). At times the locations where we conduct training will require an access list and the on-line registration contains the details normally needed.

One of the most important aspects to delivering a quality program is training. The BSA has a superb training program where volunteers share the knowledge with their fellow leaders. New and experienced leaders work together to build a strong program for their youth. To continue to offer sessions that meet the needs of our volunteers we do need experienced volunteers willing to share their knowledge with their fellow leaders. If you are an experienced Den Leader, Webelos Leader, Scoutmaster, or Assistant or any other BSA position we do need your support. Contact Training Chair John Flanagan

On-Line Training

If you visit www.tac-bsa.org/training and look at the self-study section, there are courses on Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat. It will even print out a card after you take the course.

You are brand new and just getting started, we have the training just for you, Fast Start Training. It is also all on-line so join us at www.tac-bsa.org/training  and link to Fast Start training to get started!

If you are a Troop Committee Member you can also complete the Troop Committee Challenge On-Line.

J P Frossard created an excellent overview of the BSA training programs for adult and youth. It is worth a look to see how the BSA training program works to support and train our leaders.

Friends of Scouting...most ever raised by a district in TAC!!!!

Thank you for your generous support of the Friends of Scouting campaign. To date $77,000 has been raised in Mayflower. These funds are necessary to maintain a BSA organization in Europe and are very much appreciated. We hope that those who have not been able to contribute so far in the campaign will take a few minutes and make an on-line contribution.

If you would like to make a contribution you can do so securely and on-line.
