Camp Alpine takes place on the grounds of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre.

Facilities

The Kandersteg International Scout Centre sets amongst the beautiful mountainous backdrop that Switzerland offers. TROOPS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN TENTS, COOKING GEAR, and SLEEPING GEAR. Food will be distributed through a central commissary for each unit to cook while at base camp. Thursday evening troops are invited to participate in an international BBQ hosted by the Kandersteg Scout Centre.

Program

Camp Alpine is a traditional Scout Camp with a difference. It offers a combination of an excellent Merit Badge program and a full-fledged High Adventure Program. The Accelerated Camping Experience (ACE) will be conducted for first year campers. Merit Badges will be offered and they are outlined in the Camp Leader's Guide. Friday evening all Scouts are invited to an International Campfire at the Kandersteg Scout Centre.

Scouts and Venture Crew members, 14 years and older will have an opportunity to participate in a special challenge program which included selected high adventure activities. This experience will have an additional charge. A limited number of high adventure activities are available for Scouts 13 years of age.

High Adventure

Swimming, Glacier Hikes, Whitewater Rafting, and acres of mountains to roam over are just some of the activities offered. The program offerings promise to challenge the physical, mental, and emotional capacities of all participants.

Check In/Out

Check in begins at 1400 hours (2 p.m.) on Sunday 6 July and check out is after 1000 hours (10 a.m.) on Saturday, 12 July.
