VISITING OUR STORE
You are always welcome to come in and shop. We are open for walk-ins Tuesday-Friday 0900-1530. We are located on the Franken Kasserne in Oberdachstetten, Germany, just off of B13 between Ansbach and Illesheim. There are clear signs leading to “Frankenkaserne” coming from both directions on B13. When you turn off of B13, you will see a green gate straight ahead. Park in front and give us a call. Our number is listed on the gate. We will come out and get you, as we do not have gate guards. Keep in mind that there is not a gas station, food court or shoppette on our small post. We are only 15 minutes away from Storck Barracks (Illesheim) and 25 minutes away from Katterbach (Ansbach). Both posts have gas and food.
GPS tip: Enter “Munasiedlung” for the city or enter the coordinates: 49 25 32 N, 10 23 10 E
We do not have a street or number. When you approach Munasiedlung, keep your eyes open for the signs to Frankenkaserne.

Tips and Good Advice For Placing a Mail Order
Please note that all orders must be in writing and will be processed in the order that they are received. No phone orders will be accepted.
To ensure your order will be processed quickly and without any problems, please provide us with the following information:
* Full name and unit number
* Complete shipping address
* Complete telephone number and/or email address that can be used to contact you should it be necessary
* Payment information
* Accurate description of items being ordered. If you have a catalog number, please use it, but it is not necessary.
If any of this information is missing, it will delay your order.
Forms of payment accepted at TAC are:
US Dollar, Euro, checks, money orders, traveler's checks, unit accounts, Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal (through the “Make a Secure Online Payment” link on the TAC website)
When using Paypal, please be sure to state that the payment is for a Scout Shop order in the comments section.
Due to legal requirements, we are not allowed to keep your Credit Card Information on file or take credit card information solely over the phone. That is why we ask you that you provide us with it on each order.
Please include the following information for credit card orders: the 16-digit credit card number, expiration date, 3-digit security code found on the reverse of the card, and the name as it appears on the credit card. You may call us with this information, but we are unable to process your payment until we have received the last 4 digits and expiration date from your card in writing as our authorization to charge your card by either email, fax, or mail.
If you are a Presidential Unit, or are ordering for an activity that is receiving a discount on our merchandise, please make sure that you mark it on your order. If you do not denote it on your order, you will not be given the discount.
In order to better process your orders, all additions to existing orders will be treated as new orders.
Gift Certificates are available. Contact us for more information.
Postage and Handling Fees
The following Handling/Packing Charges will be placed on all orders: $3.50 per order of $25.00 or less; $4.00 per order of $25.01 to $100.00; and $6.00 per order $100.01 and up. Orders that must be shipped at a cost to us will be charged for the actual cost of shipping on top of the handling fee. This will be a one-time charge per order, so if you have items on backorder, there will not be another fee assessed.
ONLINE CATALOG
We do not have our own online catalog, but you may use www.scoutstuff.org as a reference. All items are available at our store. If we do not have an item in stock, we will order it for you. Please keep in mind that by ordering through us you are helping to support Transatlantic Council.
All orders placed with Scoutstuff.org go directly to our National Distribution Center in Charlotte, NC, therefore:
* You may not use your TAC account to order merchandise directly through Scoutstuff.org
* Units will be charged BSA postage rates (different from TAC postage and handling fees)
* Units ordering using a local address may be charged duty and VAT on items ordered through Scoutstuff.org
* Transatlantic Council will not refund nor exchange merchandise purchased through Scoutstuff.org. All exchange/refund requests must be made through the distributor where you purchased the merchandise (that would also include purchasing items at a Scout Shop in the States and trying to exchange or obtain a refund from our Scout Shop).
Now you can browse and order Scouting products 24 hours a day and seven days a week right from your personal computer. Link to www.scoutstuff.org for the first official BSA E-catalog of Scouting products.
HOW TO ORDER
* Complete the TAC Scout Shop Order form and fax it to +49 (0)9845-985-473 or send it by mail or email. OR
* Send an e-mail with item number(s), quantity and item description(s). Be sure to include your shipping address, and payment information.
* To charge your unit account, the e-mail or order form must be sent/signed by an authorized person on your unit signature card. It is important to keep your unit signature card up-to-date to avoid a delay in processing your order.
* Only email orders placed to scoutshop@tac-bsa.org will receive an order confirmation. Faxed and mailed orders will not have a confirmation sent. Orders may be pulled for pick-up, but they will be charged the standard handling fees. Due to the increase of email orders, this standard must be maintained for promptness of order processing. The Scout Shop processes all express orders within 48 business hours. This does not include Saturday hours. In the event, your order has not been processed within 48 business hours; a 5% discount will be given on that order. There is a $15 charge for this service. The discount does not apply to backordered items. Normal orders are processed as expeditiously as possible and in the order that they are received.
* Sorry, no phone orders. You may use the secure payment form to pay for your order or deposit funds into your unit account.
REFUND/EXCHANGE POLICY
* All items returned, refunded or exchanged must be accompanied by a receipt. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
* All items must be returned in the same condition in which you received them from us. Tags, etc. must still be attached to the items.
* Any returns made after 30 days from the date of purchase will be assessed a 15% restocking fee. No returns or exchanges will be accepted after 90 days from the date of purchase. Anything that was purchased in the States or from other Boy Scout shops cannot be returned to us.
* Refunds on merchandise may be applied to the unit account, gift certificate, or back to your credit card (if you paid by credit card). If you would rather be refunded via a check, this takes about one week to be processed.
* No refunds will be given for worn, washed or damaged merchandise
* Items that have to be special ordered from the National Distribution, because we do not carry them, i.e. ladies pants and blouses, wool blend pants and small uniform shirts, cannot be returned and no refund will be provided. This is due to the fact that we are unable to resell them in the shop.
* No Refunds on Custom Design Merchandise. If the merchandise is defective, or there was an error by the manufacturer, we will work to get a replacement product. (i.e. incorrect spelling on a unit flag).
* All returns that are to be credited to a Credit Card will be assessed a 10% administration fee.
Unit Accounts
Unit Account Statements will continue to be sent to the Committee Chairman of record on the Unit Account, so please ensure that your Committee Chairman's name, address, telephone number and authorized users (maximum of three) are up to date. Effective immediately, no unit accounts will be overdrafted. Your unit may make deposits with a Visa/MasterCard, Paypal, Cash, Check, Money Order, Bank Transfers and Euros. Presidential Unit discounts cannot be applied if your account is overdrawn.
Q. What is a unit account and how is it used?
A unit account is an account maintained at Transatlantic Council for specific use by a unit (pack, troop, crew). It can be used for purchasing BSA supplies from our Scout Shop, for registration, for camps, and for district activities. The unit decides how the account is going to be used.
The Committee Chair is the volunteer responsible for the management of the unit account. The responsibility can be delegated within the unit, but Transatlantic Council will deal only with the Committee Chair on issues relating to the account. (That is an auditor ruling that has become our policy). All statements will be sent to the Committee Chair of record. This is another reason why a unit should be sure that the person actually doing the job of committee chair is the person registered as the committee chair.
The Committee Chair may designate up to three other individuals to expend the funds that are in the account. This is done by filling in the authorization form and then faxing or emailing the form to the office.
Funds can be deposited by check payable to TAC BSA. They can be in any currency, however, checks in non US currency will be deposited into the local bank and the sum and exchange rate they use will be what is actually deposited into the account. Funds can also be transferred via credit card, or deposited in-person at the shop.
Statements are sent out quarterly to the Committee Chair.
Q. My unit account at Transatlantic Council shows that I have a minus "-" and I know we made a deposit and should have money in our account.
The software created for managing unit accounts is based on the same type of software used for credit cards. All charges are listed at positive (+), and all payments into the account are listed as negatives (-). Having a negative sign (-) listed before your final total means that is how much money you have in the account.
Previous Balance -350.00
Trading Post Order 125.00
Registration 30.00
Balance - 195.00 (means you still have $195 left in the account)
