Camp Freedom’s new location offers great new facilities and shooting ranges. The camp is close to Ansbach, a local U.S. base in Bavaria. Our scout shop will also soon be located in the Ansbach area. The camp is also close to a local horse range, which is a potential for the 2009 season.
Camp Freedom is organized under the traditional BSA summer camp approach. All campsites are equipped with two person wall tents, cots, and platforms. Meals are served in our dining facility with the exception of three meals that are prepared in the campsite. All campers should bring camping and personal equipment listed in the Boy Scout Handbook to camp. The camp is looking to share a swimming pool with the local village. There are shower houses, running water, and flush toilets near campsites.
A fully trained and motivated camp staff awaits your unit's arrival. Camp Freedom offers your Scouts the opportunity to work on merit badges including a full program of aquatics, nature, camp craft, and handicraft and field sports. The Accelerated Camping Experience (ACE) program is designed to teach first year campers basic skills needed for advancement.
Basic camping fee includes food, camp patch, and merit badge instruction (materials for merit badge instruction if needed are an additional cost). The Camp Leaders Guide details additional materials needed for merit badges.
Preparing young people to make ethical and moral decisions over their lifetimes by instilling within them the values of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law
