Looking for a little adventure?
Perched in the Swiss Alps at the World Scout Bureau camp in Kandersteg, Switzerland, we combine the best of the BSA summer camp program with Kandersteg International Scout Centre's own high-adventure programs. Camp Alpine takes place on the grounds of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC). KISC sits amongst the one of the most beautiful mountain backdrops that Switzerland offers.
Camp Alpine is a traditional Scout Camp with a difference. It offers a combination of an excellent Merit Badge program and a full-fledged High Adventure Program. FROGS will be conducted for first year campers. This year we will offer 30+ Merit Badges. Friday evening all Scouts are invited to an International Campfire at the Kandersteg Scout Centre. Each troop/crew will have one day for a troop program day (Wednesday or Thursday)
TROOPS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN TENTS, COOKING GEAR, and SLEEPING GEAR. Food will be distributed through a central commissary for each unit to cook while at base camp. Sunday evening troops are invited to participate in a BBQ hosted by the Kandersteg Scout Centre (included in fee).
We offer an opportunity where a Scout can participate in a High Adventure Program only through KISC planned events. We recommend these activities for Scouts and Venturers aged 14 and older. There are a limited number of hikes that are available for Scouts ages 11 to 13.
All High Adventure Programs are booked through the Programme Office at Kandersteg-- jonathan.morgan@kisc.ch. They are available on a first come, first served basis. Payment is on site to KISC (Kandersteg)
As noted in the Transatlantic Council Guide to Summer Camp, High Adventure Program fees are not included in the basic price for camp and vary according to selection
