Parents and Scouters, I wanted to take a minute to make you aware of a

unique opportunity to participate in a once in a lifetime event.  The 2010

National Jamboree will take place from 26 July - 4 August at Fort A.P. Hill,

Virginia.  For the first time the Transatlantic Council (TAC) will sponsor a

full troop 36 youth slots (18 are already reserved) for this historic event.

-- Cost - The cost will be approximately ~$1,100.00, of which $795 is the

national program fee, the final cost is yet to be determined.

-- Payments will be made on basically a quarterly basis, with a $100.00

reservation fee due in January 5th, 2009.

-- Transportation -- Due to the turbulent nature of the TAC, there are no

transportation costs, parents are responsible to get their son(s) to the

pre-Jamboree campout in Northern Virginia on or about 22 July 2010...this

means you can be stationed/live anywhere and your son will be guaranteed a

reserved spot, some council contingents are already full.  TAC will take the

scouts from the pre-Jamboree Campout and then to the actual Jamboree.

-- Attendance requirements - 12 years old and a First Class Scout

Why should I attend -- This is a once in a lifetime event for two reasons.

First, this is the last Jamboree that will be held at Ft. A.P.Hill -- home

to the Jamboree since 1981.  Second,  this is a high demand event as it is

the 100th Anniversary of scouting, it is literally once in a lifetime.

Perhaps most importantly - this promises to be a unique fun-filled event for

all who plan to attend.

Please check out the details at http://www.bsajamboree.org (Registration for TAC is now full)
